I have a plan.

At least I always do when I first start out on my daily walk. Everything seems possible at the beginning of a walk...all the ideas...all the plans. It's only when I'm half way around that I start to get anxious again. January is always a funny time when there are no deadlines and therefore it's a little difficult to get back down to work. (At least it is for me.) Next thing you know, it's May! and seasonal shops are asking for work that I should have made in January. I realized during the christmas shows last month that I really need to develop new work. Now the big question is, what? I have long been wanting to create a product that talks about the culture of Newfoundland and Labrador. We are very lucky here in this province (well for a number of reasons) for the great support we get from the Craft Council. Every two years we can apply for the New Creations Grant that allows us time and money to develop new work. How wonderful is that? However, if I won the lottery on Wednesday I would have no problem chucking the works and moving here.

Brenda! These are beautiful photos. Imagine recreating the texture and colours of the tree trunks on fabric? Anyway, don't forget about me while you're developing new work...:( By the way, I notice Artistri is not on the list here on the left. Any chance of getting a link up?
I love the new pieces!

How lucky you are to have such resources... I know you'll come up with something fab! By the way, I'll expect an invite to your villa when the day comes but I'm afraid its MY turn for the $40 million this week so maybe next week for you...p.s.. hi Blackie!
